Technology across radio, television, digital and the broader media and IT ecosystem continues to evolve. This year's 2025 NAB Show will see the NAB partner with Public Media Venture Group to present TechConnect ’25, designed to serve as a premier tech education conference targeting public media pros.

Investors were more than pleased with the fourth quarter 2024 financial performance of the nation's No. 1 owner of broadcast television stations, sending shares in Nexstar Media Group up sharply on Thursday. That growth continued across the first trading session of March 2025. 

Darrell Calton has gained attention for engineering an ownership shift at Iliad Media Group that made it an employee-owned licensee — one that recently agreed to expand to Montana. Now, his son has created another employee-owned entity by teaming up with five other individuals to purchase two FM radio stations.

The radio broadcasting company founded by the late Ed Christian and today led by CEO Chris Forgy has announced when it will reveal its financial results for the final three months of 2024.

The battle for supremacy among auto insurance specialists, with respect to broadcast and cable TV spots, appears to be titling in favor of the company that has made its mark with a series of commercials featuring a wannabe 1970s-styled cop and his furry, flightless sidekick.

For a quarter-century, he was associated with radio stations in Philadelphia and, before that, Miami. Now, he's joining EVP Randy Chase and CEO Carl Parmer at a Birmingham-based owner of radio stations carved from a group of properties once under the Cox Radio banner.

She's a household name in parts of the Upper Midwest and is a former NAB Television Board Chair. Now, the National Association of Broadcasters will honor her with the Chuck Sherman Television Leadership Award on Tuesday (3/4) in Washington, D.C.

It owns eight radio stations serving such Illinois communities as Clinton, to the north of Decatur, and Taylorville, to the southwest. Soon, these properties along with a trio of online platforms and a digital division will be assets held by another locally based owner, with its operations outside Springfield, Ill.

The FCC at its February Open Meeting last week moved forward with a Notice of Inquiry that seeks comment on whether, and if so how, to free up additional mid-band spectrum for new services in the Upper C-band (3.98 GHz to 4.2 GHz).
