A key part of REC's regulatory advocacy is to encourage change. Changes that have been proposed by REC have already made substantial improvements, especially in the LPFM service. Our proposed changes are designed to meet our objectives that assure that more citizens have access to spectrum, to help small stations better serve their local communities, improve the rural quality of life and most importantly, keeping radio relevant.
Below is information about the various Petitions for Rulemaking that REC currently has pending before the FCC. These initiatives are based on what is really happening and include the culmination of the many inquiries that we have received at REC, constituent surveys and just good common sense regulation.
