LPFM Power Chart

Maximum LPFM ERP based on HAAT

§73.811(a) of the Commission's Rules states that a maximum facility for an LPFM station is a 60 dBu contour of 5.6 kilometers (rounded to the tenth).  For stations at 30 meters height above average terrain (HAAT), this is 100 watts effective radiated power (ERP).  For stations at HAATs greater than 30 meters, you can use this chart to determine an LPFM station's maximum ERP:

Minimum LPFM ERP based on HAAT

§73.811(b) of the Commission's Rules requires an LPFM station to operate a minimum facility with a 60 dBu contour of 4.7 kilometers (rounded to the nearest tenth).  For LPFM stations at 30 meters HAAT or less, the ERP is 50 watts.  For stations at higher HAATs, this chart will apply:
