NOTE: Going forward, you may see items referenced as "Internal App" with an identifier.  These are for applications and sites that are used internally by REC and do not have general public access.

Recoded, transitioned and reset certificates for the web UI related command line scripts for the functionality used to define, build and make visible, the log files used by Playout ONE Pro  for Delmarva FM & FM Riverton.  Changes were made to Playout ONE File Copy to reflect the new location of generated log files.

In preparation for the next major phase (recnet.net services), we have identified all of the various directories, files and subdomains that are associated with recnet.net services and have developed a project plan for the disposition of each of those resources. 

The plan is that all human usable functions will be transitioned over to the recnet.com domain with redirects from the current recnet.net URL.  

recnet.net will be used mainly for utility purposes, machine to machine (API) and future data offerings.

Recoded and transitioned the REC/J1 Japan Earthquake website (eew.j1fm.com & eew.recnet.net).  

Recoded and transitioned the APIs that receive Earthquake Early Warning (EEW) data from the EEW monitor that resides on the J1 Rivendell automation system.

On September 17, 2024 (EDT), REC  Networks is transitioning the J1/REC Japan Earthquake website as a part of the System40 initiative.  This site is accessible through the following domain names:

  • eew.j1fm.tokyo
  • eew.recnet.net

This site displays historical details of earthquakes in Japan dating back to the year 2011.

We have completed the transition of text to speech (TTS) services and all J1 related support services to System40.  Due to unforeseen circumstances, there was an interruption of broadcasting on all four channels for approximately 10 minutes.  

We are currently doing post launch verifications on the J1 transition.

This project has been completed and the advisory is no longer in effect. 

As of 5PM EDT on Sunday, November 15, 2024, we have completed many of the functions needed to transition the Tokyo and Southern California travel, weather and earthquake information to the new System40 environment.

Converted from perl to PHP and updated, the script used to generate the weekly Rivendell playlists for J1 HITS.  This version will be put into service effective with this weekend's update.

Performed code conversion and cutover on internal applications that are used to maintain the music database for the J1 stations.

Addressed SSL certificate issues related to yesterday's conversion of the J1 content API.

Work has begun on the code that is used to generate the weekly playlists on the four J1 channels.  These are currently perl applications that need to be converted to PHP.

This morning, DNS was updated on the J1 content API.  New certificates have been requested.  We were still experiencing some issues at 2PM today.  This may take time as the new data propagates through the internet.

Today, we have prepared to cut over the J1 API.  This API is used to control some of the dynamic content that displays on the Aiir-powered website and mobile app.  

DNS changes will be made on Tuesday morning (09/10/2024).

As a part of a system conversion by REC Networks, the parent of J1 Radio, we will be performing a systems change on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.  This change will impact the display of certain content that appears on the J1FM.tokyo website and through pages on the official J1 Radio Mobile App.  While J1's website is provided through Aiir, it utilizes application programming interfaces (APIs) to deliver custom content to the website.  REC/J1 will be changing the server for which this API is operating from.
