FCCdata: LMS application status history

By admin | 11:57 AM EDT, Fri May 07, 2021
  • Read more about FCCdata: LMS application status history

Currently, for CDBS applications, REC creates a transaction log any time an application changes status through our realtime status update system (CDBSBOT) and on the morning updates.  These appear in the Application History (lower-left) section of a US facility record when indicated by a red arrow .

FCCdata: Tower payload

By admin | 6:37 PM EDT, Mon May 03, 2021
  • Read more about FCCdata: Tower payload
Implemented the Tower Payload option for public use. Previously, this was an REC internal function. Tower Payload allows users to see which other FM and TV facilities use the same coordinates. This function can be used to identify facilities in order to calculate RF radiation on a particular tower, especially in light of the recent increased awareness in ET Dockets 03-137 and 13-84. The Tower Payload function can be found in the sidebox on FM engineering records. This function works similar to how the "What's On This Tower" function on the FCCdata mobile presentation works.

FCCdata: Tower payload

Made minor fixes to FCCdata tower payload function (this function displays other broadcast and some nonbroadcast facilities on the same tower as the station) to fix a bug showing some radio broadcast stations as TV stations and to move the source of the licensee name to LMS raw data.

Added new option to EZform to support requests for the November, 2021 NCE FM filing window. REC internal systems updated to accept these orders.

FCCdata: FM associated file numbers, AM/HF application lists

  • Read more about FCCdata: FM associated file numbers, AM/HF application lists

Last night, we re-parsed every FM engineering related authorization issued since LMS was turned up for FM (September 25, 2019).  This was to capture the associated file number.  This file number is the previous file number in the chain of applications.  For a license to cover application, it would be the construction permit that the license application covers.

New "Accepted for Filing" Status

By admin | 11:38 AM EDT, Wed April 07, 2021
  • Read more about New "Accepted for Filing" Status

To prepare for the upcoming filing windows, REC has added the "Accepted for Filing" status and public notice monitoring into eLMS.

Unlike CDBS, the LMS raw data and public view does not support the "Accepted for Filing" application status.  Under the new system, the "Accepted for Filing" status comes only from the Applications Public Notice issued daily by the FCC and that status is never placed into the raw data (as it was with CDBS).

FCCdata: Superceded applications and other fixes.

By admin | 5:13 PM EDT, Sat April 03, 2021
  • Read more about FCCdata: Superceded applications and other fixes.

This weekend update incldues some bug fixes and some additional migration of FCCdata functionality from CDBS to eLMS and LMS:

Restored display of CDBS superceded applications and various "non-form" application types back into FCCdata.  These were never included in the initial move to eLMS.  Engineering records for those applications will be managed by the CDBS raw data and not eLMS.

J1 tsunami tracking

By admin | 11:36 AM EDT, Mon March 22, 2021
  • Read more about J1 tsunami tracking

The Japan tsunami tracking system was completely rebuilt and deployed using the JMA XML interface.

A program runs once per minute to get tsunami related updates from the XML feed.

A public view of the data is available on the eew.j1fm.tokyo website by bringing up the the JMA final quake data.

Tsunami data from the Mar 20, 2021 6:09 PM (JST) earthquake is already loaded in the system at:

  • Read more about J1 Earthquake Management / J1 Ticker Weather

On February 24, 2021 (JST), the Japan Meterological Agency (JMA) discontinued their former website design, which rendered our earthquake result monitoring from the JMA unoperational.  This also impacted our ability to monitor for tsunami.  It did not directly impact our Earthquake Early Warning (EEW) functionality.
